Pioneer Park ADA Compliant Boardwalk Surfacing:

The City was able to receive a reimbursable grant in the amount of $7,313.00 from AWC/RMSA Loss Prevention. These funds will be used to add Treated Decking throughout the park giving access from sidewalks to ADA picnic benches and the ADA compliant restrooms. As of now, there is chip rock along with geo grid as the walking surface within the park. There have been numerous complaints regarding the current walking surface, unfortunately a few complaints were from disabled folks having trouble traversing on the chip rock. With the use of the Treated Decking, it will make it much easier for citizens to utilize the park in a safe manner. This project will be completed by the public works department and should be complete by Labor Day 2023.
